Hmmmm. Coffee as meditative practice?
“Meditation takes practice, but one way you can start is to simply be mindful. Uh, what does that mean exactly? To be mindful means to be aware of what is going on around you by living in the present. In this modern age, we stress about so much that we often find it impossible to live in the present and focus on one task at a time. Multi-tasking is praised at work, but when you engage in multiple tasks at the same time, do you really get that much more accomplished versus just focusing on one thing at a time? The average worker’s day is plagued by phone calls, emails, meetings, children, spouses, relationships, and crushing deadlines. Most days, we feel like we have completely lost control. To help regain some of that control, I want to propose and challenge you to try a simple task tomorrow morning. In fact, I almost guarantee you’ll enjoy it.”
